Discovering Paradise
An undeveloped cliff-framed cove
Playa Jeremi is the kind of cove people drive past and then double back for. A short, sandy beach sits at the foot of dramatic rust-and-grey cliffs, with calm, clear water that deepens quickly enough for an easy swim straight off the sand. It is completely undeveloped, no entrance fee, no loungers, no bar, which is exactly why regulars love it.
The cliffs that wrap the bay make it feel secluded and sheltered, and the rocky edges hold enough fish for a satisfying snorkel. The lack of facilities keeps numbers down on weekdays, so you can often have a quiet stretch of sand mostly to yourself. The flip side is that you need to come fully prepared.
Jeremi sits in the rural Bandabou half of the island, near the equally low-key fishing cove of Playa Lagun. The two pair well for a quiet day of swimming and snorkeling away from the resort beaches. For powder sand and turquoise water nearby, the Kenepa coves are a short drive west.
