Dial 911 for police or the fire service and 912 for an ambulance in Curaçao. For incidents at sea, the coast guard is on 913. The UK and Canadian governments both list these numbers in their travel advice for Curaçao, checked on October 9, 2026.

English is one of Curaçao's three official languages, alongside Dutch and Papiamentu, and the Curaçao Tourist Board says many locally born residents speak English, Dutch, Spanish and Papiamentu. We found no official statement that every emergency operator answers in English, so state your location and the help you need slowly and clearly.

If you are in danger, dial 911 for the police. For a theft or other non-urgent incident, report it at a station of the Korps Politie Curaçao (KPC), the island's police force, and keep the report reference for your insurance claim. UK government advice says petty theft and street crime are a concern in Curaçao, and Canada's advice is never to leave valuables unattended on the beach or in a vehicle.

Dial 912 for an ambulance in Curaçao; 911 is for police and fire. The Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) publishes +5999 745 0000 as its contact number, but that is the hospital's general line and does not replace 912 in an emergency.

Report the loss to the police, then contact your country's embassy or consulate. For US citizens, the State Department's Curaçao page lists the US Consulate General in Curaçao on +5999 433 2200 and gives 433-2200 as the local after-hours number (checked October 9, 2026). The Government of Canada says it has no office in Curaçao and directs Canadians to its Emergency Watch and Response Centre in Ottawa. For a life-threatening emergency, dial 911 (police and fire) or 912 (ambulance). Curaçao sits on the southern edge of the Atlantic hurricane region, and the Meteorological Department Curaçao describes direct impacts as relatively rare compared with islands farther north. Storms still pass close: the department records that in June 2022 the system that became Tropical Storm Bonnie brought tropical storm warnings, 3 to 5 inches of rain and coastal flooding.
