Klein Curaçao is a flat, uninhabited island off the southeast tip of Curaçao, and reaching it is half the experience. Boats depart from Spanish Water and Caracas Bay for a full-day crossing, usually by catamaran or motor cruiser, gliding across open blue water with snorkel and turtle stops along the way.
The island itself is pure castaway scenery: a long curve of white sand, water so clear it looks lit from below, and an old pink lighthouse standing over a weathered shipwreck on the wild windward side. Green turtles often cruise the shallows just off the beach, and the reef edge rewards anyone who brings a mask. There are no shops or hotels, so the day is built around swimming, snorkeling, and lazing in the sun.
The open-water crossing can be choppy, so take motion-sickness tablets in advance if you are prone to seasickness. Bring everything you need for the day, including water, shade, and reef-safe sunscreen, because the island has no facilities. Pair the trip with time exploring Jan Thiel nearby.
